Pavlová (Garampáld)

Pavlová (Garampáld)

The tiny village lies in the valley of the Szikince stream, near the Garam river. It boasts a rich folk tradition, folk dancing and the famous kurta skirt costume. Visitors to the village can admire all this at village festivals and the traditional Sikince Festival in July, which is presented by a group of children’s traditionalists. Religious life plays an important role in the life of the village. In addition to their church named after St. Lawrence, there are several sacral treasures. The Way of Mary, the most extensive network of pilgrimage routes in Central Europe, runs along the outskirts of the village, from Bény to Márianosztra. The hilly, hilly landscape invites you to take a hike. It is worth visiting the Harasztok gorge, a 300 m long, 30 m deep canyon-like gully, an interesting natural phenomenon.
